Why do you need a 4506-T, if you already have my tax returns?
Typically we use the 4506-T tax transcript to make sure we have the most complete information possible. Transcripts will show figures from all applicable schedules that may not show on the 1040 tax returns. For instance, a Schedule C shows a breakdown of business income and expenses. In some instances, the tax return has been amended since originally submitted, and a tax transcript will reflect those adjustments.
